QUÉBEC, Aug. 26, 2020 / CNW Telbec / - The Minister of Culture and Communications, Mr.me Nathalie Roy, is happy to launch the third edition of the Call for projects in support of the cultural offer in the educational path of young Quebecers, which takes place from August 24 to October 2, 2020.

With an envelope of approximately 1.5 M$, this call for projects aims to increase and diversify the offer of cultural activities for preschool, primary and secondary students taking place outside of school hours, in addition to reaching new age groups, namely young people in early childhood and college.

The two previous editions of the call, in 2018-2019 and in 2019-2020, supported all eligible proposals, i.e. more than 200 cultural projects for young people, from early childhood to college education, across all regions of Quebec.

“I am very happy to announce today the return of this call for projects which has been very successful in previous editions. The call pursues a twofold objective. First, that of offering our toddlers, our students and our college students diversified and quality cultural activities throughout their educational journey, throughout Quebec. As we are currently operating in a difficult context, it becomes all the more important to allow the practice of cultural activities, which are at the heart of a stimulating school life. Then, this call for projects will contribute to the economic revival of the cultural milieu and to the support of our artists, our writers as well as our professional cultural organizations which are severely affected by the health crisis. "

Nathalie Roy, Minister of Culture and Communications

“For us, education and culture are inseparable. Today's announcement is fully in line with this vision and demonstrates, once again, the importance our government places on education, our top national priority. With this call for projects, we will promote the development and academic success of young people, many of whom will return to school in the coming days after too long months of absence. I am delighted to be working with the Minister of Culture and Communications to promote and appreciate culture and cultural expression in Quebec schools. "
