After a few weeks of suspense, the winner of the 2nd drawing contest organized jointly by the TD Friends of the Environment Foundation (TD FEF) and Earth Day Canada is revealed. Emily-Alexandra Sarabia-Tellez, a Grade 6 student at École Cœur-Vaillant in Quebec City, stood out. Tomorrow, November 22, we will give a lunch box without waste to each of the students in his class and, at the same time, a check for 7,500 $ to his school to develop a project related to the environment. .
The theme of the competition was "What connects me to nature?" and nearly 4,000 elementary school students from across Canada submitted an original drawing. Emily-Alexandra was the only finalist in Quebec. She will see her drawing displayed on the TD FEF limited reusable bag in addition to receiving a camera.
Each of the nine finalists will receive an environmental grant of 500 $ for their school, 25 $ in cash as well as a waste-free lunch box. In addition, they will have the chance to have their drawing featured in Earth Day Canada's 2013-2014 EcoKids calendar.
