On the occasion of the 6e Digital summit in education which took place on May 3 and 4, 2018 in Montreal, we met Lynda O'Connell, educational advisor at the RÉCIT national service for preschool education, who spoke to us about the extraordinary possibilities offered by programming and robotics for toddlers.

To the question "can we integrate digital technology from preschool?" », Lynda answers without hesitation in the affirmative. Its mission is to find the most relevant tools for preschool children among the range of products on the market and to offer support in the community. It is entirely appropriate for children to discover that they learn through play. In addition, the technological tools presented to them are powerful learning tools which allow them to go further, to achieve high level activities.
In this interview, Lynda presents several ideas for working on the metacognitive aspect using the touch pad and making the integration of robotics meaningful: "We do not want to undo the conception of the robot that children have through children's literature and the imagination, we want to complete it". Listen to the interview to discover a new facet of robotics adapted to the realities of the little ones.
