We hear more and more about these flying devices used in particular for taking aerial photographs and video. Here is a school principal from New Brunswick taking an interest in it for educational purposes.

Roberto Gauvin, director of Haut-Madawaska @ pprentissage center (C @ HM) in Clair, near Edmundston, is experimenting with new technology as part of the school's Creative Lab project.
The Parrot AR. Drone 2.0, which the school has equipped, is a device equipped with a high-definition camera and allows you to take videos. It is remotely controlled by an iPad. As M. Gauvin explains on his blog, “We can even add a“ GoPro ”type camera with sound and greater resolution”.
What could be done with a drone in a school? “As a teacher,” explains Mr. Gauvin, “I see several possibilities. For example, students could prepare a narration about a monument, a heritage site or an attraction in a region. In addition to producing the video, the students would write the text for the narration, read the text and promote it on social media. "
For now, the main challenges lie in learning how to handle the drone and the short battery life. Nevertheless, Roberto Gauvin is very enthusiastic about the educational possibilities. Moreover, he presents on his site the very first video made.
