Quebec - Mirego, a Quebec-based company that develops applications for iPhone and iPad, is launching a contest that may be of interest to connected educators. As part of the competition, you could win 50,000$ in professional services at Mirego for the development of your own mobile application.

“We appeal to innovators and creatives who want to make a difference in their environment,” Mirego said in the invitation she issued this morning.

There are two ways to present your idea to Mirego.

By completing the online entry form before December 1, 2010 at 5 p.m. The form must include the following information:

  • Introducing your team
  • The reason you deserve to win the contest
  • Description of your application and its concept
  • Description of how your app will help change the world
  • Your contact details

You can also submit a two-minute video that introduces the concept of your application. For teachers, it could even become a class project by involving students in the production of this promotional video. The video must include the same information as requested in the entry form. It must be sent to concours@mirego.com before December 1, 2010 at 5 p.m.

The 5 best presentations will then be selected by a jury and these finalists will be announced on January 7, 2011. The grand unveiling of the winning concept will take place on January 20, 2011 at noon.

The prize will be awarded to the concept that best highlights the following aspects:

  • Potential of the concept of improving the quality of life of users
  • Creativity of the proposal
  • Innovation of the proposed application
  • Quality of presentation
  • Application functionality
  • Usefulness of the application

This is an opportunity for connected educators to make a difference for the Quebec school world by offering a concept of mobile application that can promote learning among students or simplify the life of educators!
