Association of science communicators (ACS) launches the Hubert-Reeves literary prize for popularization of science.
In our time so technophile and scientivorous, popularization is paradoxically a relatively neglected and little recognized literary field. To promote a diversified and quality scientific culture in French, in Canada, the ACS relies on books, whether in paper or electronic format.
The first Hubert-Reeves prize will be awarded during the Salon International du livre de Québec in 2011: it will reward a work published between December 1, 2009 and December 1, 2010 in Canada, and dealing with a scientific subject popularized for the general public.
Children's books are eligible in the same way as books for adults. The winning author will be awarded 1000$ and may benefit from support for the promotion of his book.
Authors can apply until December 15, 2010: for more details, please consult the attached form or contact us at: 514 844 4388 ext. 250 or firstname.lastname@example.org
