Lévis, March 22, 2019 - After the success of its first edition, the Juvénat Notre-Dame is offering all families a second edition of the “Connected parents, smart family” day which will take place on Saturday April 13 from 9 am to 4:30 pm. Our Director of Development and Partnerships, Stéphanie Dionne, will host a workshop entitled “Getting back to basics with digital technology”.

To be successful in the modern world, young people must know how to use digital technology, without letting themselves be swallowed up by it, and their fate in this regard lies in the hands of the school and their parents. The event "Connected parents, smart family"targets the whole family, parents and young people alike, regardless of the school attended.

On this day, parents will have the privilege of attending a conference by Mr. Frédéric Lavoie, educational advisor for the integration of digital in education for over six years. Young people, meanwhile, will have the chance to meet and listen to the testimony of DENYZEE, web content creator on YouTube, Instagram and Facebook.

In addition to the lectures, the rich program includes more than 23 relevant and practical workshops. Workshops are intended mainly for parents, others more specifically for young people and some for the whole family. Activities will more specifically touch the role of parents and help them better understand the digital age in which today's young people are immersed in order to better support them on a daily basis. Other workshops will allow young people to manipulate and stimulate their creativity through digital technology. It will also be possible to attend the most captivating demonstrations.

Here are some examples of topics that will be discussed:

  • Digital security
  • Programming
  • Robotics and humanoid robots
  • Virtual reality
  • Social media
  • Managing a digital device at home
  • Video editing, etc.

Places are limited (registration before April 11):

  • The registration fee is 50 $ per adult
  • The registration fee is 25 $ for young people (10 years old and over).
  • A package is also offered for families (max. 4 members) at a cost of 125 $.

Registration includes dinner and snacks.

It is possible to register and read all the details of the thematic day by viewing the website.
