The Canadian organization Ladies Learning Code, which organizes in particular programming learning workshops with students and teachers across the country, has had some very special days recently, such as the National Programming Learning Day, the Mobile Code visit to Parliament Hill in Ottawa, the first workshop of Teachers Learning Code… The list is long!
But December 5 was certainly memorable. On this day, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau joined to Hadi Partovi, Code.org, and Melissa Sariffodeen, Ladies Learning Code, on the global launch of the Computer Science Education Week 2016 and the international event Hour of Code.
On this occasion, the Prime Minister even participated in the design of a video game as a team with a young student named Matthew. Are you going to play it?
As reported in the article from The Canadian Press, "although virtually all young Canadians easily manipulate technology, they rarely participate in its creation, laments Melissa Sariffodeen of Ladies Learning Code."
Will you be doing “an hour of code” in class from December 5 to 11?
Recall that the Computer Science Education Week takes place from December 5 to 11, 2016. Teachers interested in doing Hour of Code on this occasion will be able to find some resources on the website of the global movement
