We met Yves Chantal, 2nd year teacher at the Pavillon du Millénaire (CS Des-Rives-du-Saguenay), who testifies to his experience as a late-career teacher who dared to take on new challenges.

When the Millennium Pavilion opened in 2017, Yves wanted to embark on this new project in order to learn more about the educational potential of technologies. Anyone who was already interested in gardening, horticulture and healthy lifestyles (which are also at the heart of the school's educational project) but who knew very little about digital devices quickly developed an ease and shared with pride that 'he now works in an increasingly paperless classroom.
The spark that ignites the desire to learn
In this interview, Yves explains that by joining the Millennium team of teachers, he was encouraged to surpass himself, to discover new ways of doing things and to renew his motivation while transmitting it to his students. He also mentions that the integration of technologies allows him to be a model of learner for children, by showing them the importance of trying and making mistakes.
Yves considers that his greatest advantage as a teacher at the end of his career is mastery of his program. This helps it to quickly target content for which the integration of digital technology would make learning more interesting for children!
“Each college has a richness and it is together that we form a dynamic team! "- Yves Chantal
We invite you to listen to this interview to discover the testimony of a teacher who dared to step out of his comfort zone and who discovered new possibilities combining technology and pedagogy. We must dare to use technology!
