No more chocolate or raffle tickets that relatives feel obliged to buy to finance school projects! The FundScrip platform simply offers to buy gift cards at the most popular retailers (even the SAQ!) And it is these who give a percentage to registered organizations.

The concept is simple and ingenious. The manager registers his group online, then an advisor FundScrip get in touch with them to validate their eligibility (non-profit organizations, school groups, sports teams, etc.) and send them documentation to help them promote their fundraising campaign. People who want to support the project go to the site, register its code and buy gift cards for themselves. The value of the card received is the same as that paid. We buy a 25 $ gift card from Cineplex Odéon, we receive its full value. However, against this publicity, the company pays 3 % of the amount to the group. And There you go!

The choice is vast : iTunes, Canadian Tire, Bureau en Gros, Starbucks, SAQ, FutureShop, Toys'R'Us, Archambault, Rona, grocery stores, etc. Each company offers a different return percentage, up to 10 % for PizzaPizza.

The Montreal company behind the platform, Fundstream, has been in existence since 2004 and serves its customers in French and English. It announced yesterday that it has passed the $ 10 million mark raised through fundraising campaigns since its inception, including $ 2 million last year alone.

Here we are, the idea is launched, to explore this summer to be ready for the start of the school year! Who will try it?
