Whether through the use of quizzes, videos accompanied by educational sheets, interactive material or audio dictations, there are many possibilities to engage your students and support them in their progress.

Here is a selection of 7 resources for improving French in preschool, elementary and secondary school.

1- Reading comprehension strategies (ADEL-UQÀM) P2-P3

It is a research group of ADEL (learners in difficulty and literacy) which created these sheets which aim to gradually develop different reading comprehension strategies. Designed for pupils in difficulty, they can also be used in regular classes and in reception classes. This material is also available in 5e year and in 6e year.

2- Reading and Writing Strategies: Research and Teaching P3-S1-S2

Secondary French teachers will feel privileged to have access here to many very useful teaching resources for teaching reading and writing strategies that have been created and validated during research projects at Laval University.

3- Improvement of French - CCDMD  P3-S1-S2

The French language improvement component of the Collegial Center for the Development of Teaching Material (CCDMD) website is aimed at learners of the 3e elementary, secondary, college or university cycle and French teachers. It contains printable material, interactive material and other resources for learning French.

4- ICT and spelling in elementary school P

Developed by Mélanie Fortin and Laury Bédard, lecturers at the University of Montreal, as well as by their students, the project presented on this site aimed to create educational material to accompany the MELS spelling list. Thus, there are more than 550 audio, video and quiz dictations for all primary cycles.

5- Funny canoe Pr-P1

This set of 10 10-minute videos, accompanied by educational sheets, is taken from the series of the same name produced in 2017 by TV5 Québec Canada and broadcast on Unis TV. First dedicated to children from 5 to 7 years old who are learning the French language, it is perfectly suited to students in regular classes.

6- Pepit - educational exercises for all

A host of very well-designed exercises and interactive games await students from preschool to high school here, mainly in French and mathematics.

7- Two teachers, one passion!  P1-P2-P3

In order to create documents related to the new list of words proposed by the MÉES, two primary level teachers have developed this site. In addition to offering two sections devoted to French, there are also educational activities related to mathematics, the social universe and science and technology.
