Our interview with Eryka Desrosiers, English and Spanish teacher at Collège Champagneur, author of the book "Diary of a new teacher, from university to the classroom" and producer of the bilingual podcast "A Teacher's Shoes / Souliers of prof ”. She talks about integration into the teaching environment and the use of technologies with students.

Text by Maryline Barrette-Dubé

By writing her book, Eryka wanted to provide support tools to the new teacher to facilitate his integration, since she herself had just taken this important step. It touches on several topics: how to get hired, how to become aware of learning disabilities and how to teach properly with technology.

Eryka uses social media to collaborate and connect her students with other classes. She also carried out a project with a teacher in Texas contacted by Google plus.

"I wanted to do project-based learning, but in collaboration, in order to have a real audience to share with. I paired my students with their students to carry out a project of common interest of their choice ”- Eryka Desrosiers

We invite you to watch this interview shot during the last AQUOPS conference to hear from Eryka about what she got from this unusual experience.
