After inviting young people to move, the Quebec athlete Pierre Lavoie offers them to sharpen their gray matter. The competition, which will be launched on Wednesday, aims to promote school perseverance and healthy lifestyles.

Currently, five establishments in the Marie-Victorin School Board are participating as part of a pilot project. These are the Paul-De Maricourt, Préville, Lionel-Groulx, Sainte-Claire and Jardin-Bienville schools. After a year of running in, the competition will enter all elementary schools in the province.

Students have one month to accumulate as many gray matter cubes as possible. A cube corresponds to the practice, for 15 minutes, of an activity mentioned in the student's notebook. Among the twenty or so activities on offer, we find in particular a visit to the museum, the creation of a reading corner, the making of a door hanger, the learning of a simple sentence in at least three languages, a visit to the library and a participation on the forum ofHello teacher. Activities should be done in the company of an older family member. Homework counts double!

This friendly competition is for kids from Kindergarten to Grade 6. Participating schools have a chance to win tickets to the show Quidam by Cirque du Soleil. All students, their parents and school staff can attend.
