Acting as a factor for change in education is now within your reach thanks to the pan-Canadian contest “Your turn to classrooms of tomorrow”, in which teachers and their students are invited to produce a video debate or photo essay on the issue.

In order to bring about lasting and significant transformations in the world of education, young people and their teachers can express themselves in a unique forum taking the face of a committed competition. In fact, the views and ideas of learners and educators will be put forward through various media channels (3 to 5 minute video or photo essay, to be submitted by September 19, 2014).

The works presented will be distributed to the general public, who will be able to vote for their favorite suggestions, from September 23 to October 3, 2014. The three groups having obtained the most clicks will send their teacher to Toronto, all expenses paid, to present his ideas to the annual advisory board of theACE (Canadian Education Association), next October.

In order to equip the participants, but also the whole school network, the ACE offers the guide " What stands in the way of change in education? ” sure the site of the same name. Over the sixteen pages, activities focusing on the dream school, the obstacles to achieving this vision, promising practices and the conception of change lead young people to deepen their analysis and look beyond the current system. .

Other documents can also be downloaded in order to stimulate discussion and better understand the issues: " What are the effective approaches to improve the mental well-being of students? "," Under what conditions does technology affect learning? "," What is the value of standardized exams? "And" Do Good High School Grades Guarantee Success in Postsecondary Education? ". Everything is completed with reflections from the Canadian Education Association workshop held in Calgary in October 2013.
