The Monique-Fitz-Back Foundation will financially support 38 preschool and school projects across Quebec related to adaptation and the fight against climate change, a record number for this fourth edition.
A total of 28,905 $ will be distributed by the Foundation in 36 establishments ranging from CPE to college. Enough to support the environmental commitment of 2,351 young people!
All the projects selected have in common the active involvement of young people and a path leading to positive behavior changes. The 38 selected projects come from 12 administrative regions and the grants awarded vary between 500 $ and 1000 $. Some examples of projects that will receive financial support: composting, indoor and outdoor gardens, enhancement of active transport, plantations and cultivation, enhancement of tap water, etc.
Benoît Mercille, Director General of the Monique-Fitz-Back Foundation, notes that “the issue of climate change is increasingly calling on schools, in all regions. We are proud to support concrete initiatives from the community that help develop the environmental commitment of young people. I would like to thank the financial partners who allow these investments as well as the jury of experts who advised us in the selection of projects. "
