The High school techno visits of the TECHNOCompétences organization are back for a 5e editing. They will take place this fall, from October 19 to December 18, 2015 or in the spring of 2016.
TECHNOCompétences organizes the activity every year High school techno visits as part of the campaign MyCareerTECHNO.com. These are visits made free by IT professionals in grades 3 to 5 in several regions of Quebec. They aim to demystify careers in information and communications technology (ICT).
The regions concerned are: Montreal, Capitale-Nationale, as well as the cities of Sherbrooke, Gatineau, Rimouski, Saguenay and Shawinigan.
To receive classroom visits, you must first register using the online form. The organization will then contact you to plan the activity.
Here are the objectives of the meeting, as stated by the organization:
- Increase awareness among young people and their parents about career opportunities in IT.
- Develop more positive attitudes towards IT as a career choice by debunking preconceptions that young people may hold.
- In particular, make efforts to increase awareness among young girls and those who influence them in order to improve their perception of ICTs and encourage their presence in this type of profession.
- Make young people aware of the needs and opportunities specific to their region regarding training and careers in ICT
