We can read on the new RADARSAT Constellation mission website : "The mission of the RADARSAT Constellation (MCR) is the next generation of Canadian Earth observation satellites. The three identical satellites, slated for launch on June 11, 2019, will evolve in formation to provide Canadians with solutions to important challenges. "
With less than a month before the satellites are launched into space, this new version of the website makes it possible to discover the details of the mission.
In new section, fun activities are offered to young people so that they can familiarize themselves with the mission while having fun. There is even a satellite model to print on a 3D printer.
Budding scientists can, for example, put themselves in the shoes of a specialist in satellite imagery to help rescue teams find flooded areas or even a boat captain to navigate through the ice of the Arctic. Finally, it is also possible to learn about satellite remote sensing from home thanks to a very detailed learning kit.
