Montreal November 24, 2014 - The societal initiative Moment of glory WIXX is coming to an end, and we are in the last week for 9-13 year olds to submit a video showing their original and fun way of moving or playing. By sharing their video from here to 1er December on the site www.wixx.ca, young people have the chance to become stars themselves and experience their Moment of glory because, in addition to being shown on the site, the most original extracts will be integrated into the next WIXX television campaign.
Already, nearly 200 videos can be viewed there. Several stars and personalities also lent themselves to the game and uploaded their own Moment of glory, whose Pascal Morrissette, Etienne Boulay, Patrice Belanger, Marie-Claude St-Laurent and many others.
To participate in Moment of glory, nothing easier. It is :
- Find a fun and original way to move or play, in short to be WIXX, alone or in a group;
- Make it a video of one minute or less (the quality of the video does not matter, it can be done from a mobile phone);
- By 1er December, share this video, with parents' consent, on WIXX.ca and invite friends to participate too.
Please note, this is not a competition, it is a challenge focused on participation and not on performance! To meet it, you have to have fun like crazy and wow it!
Beginning in December, the most original clips of the videos will be edited and included in the next WIXX TV campaign.
The objective of Moment of glory is not only to encourage young people to move more, but also to create a collective movement where young people encourage each other to join the movement and participate as well. To promote the initiative, a WIXX squad, led by the popular TV host Pascal Morrissette, was set up and has visited over twenty schools in eight regions of Quebec in recent weeks, in order to present the project and inspire original games, movements or choreographies for young people.
ABOUT WIXX
Orchestrated by Québec en Forme, WIXX is a large-scale societal communication initiative that aims to get tweens moving by promoting leisure and active travel among young people aged 9 to 13. It aims to prevent a significant drop in physical activity around the age of 13 and 14 and, more specifically:
- Increase the knowledge and improve the attitudes of some 377,000 pre-teens in Quebec when it comes to adopting a physically active lifestyle;
- Increase the support of 600,000 parents and other people of influence to encourage tweens to adopt a physically active lifestyle;
- Publicize the opportunities for physical activity available to preteens;
- To increase and then maintain the proportion of tweens who are physically active on a regular basis.
The campaign started in 2012 and will run until 2016. For more information on WIXX, please see: WIXX.ca, WIXXMAG.ca or OPERATIONWIXX.ca.
