Unfortunately, again in 2019, the graduation rate among high school youth is not glowing. Only 64.7 % of young people in Quebec graduate in five years. Every young person who drops out deprives himself of great professional and personal opportunities, and society ultimately pays the price. Alternative solutions must be thought out and implemented for these young people. What if digital and e-learning were part of the solution?

Concerned about this situation and determined to stop dropping out of school, a group of teachers and pedagogues set up ÉtudeSecours.com 8 years ago. This specialized platform offers high school students the opportunity to take online courses and be supported by qualified teaching staff.

The ÉtudeSecours principle is simple: each young person learns differently. Thus, young people must be allowed to learn at their own pace according to their ability. To do this, ÉtudeSecours has developed its own technology, in collaboration with professors, programmers, researchers specializing in education and digital experts in order to develop an innovative online learning platform.

All school materials have been designed for stand-alone use on the Web. All course notes, exercises, tests, comprehensive answers and practices for the final exam are accessible at all times. A messaging system can also be found in the student portal to communicate with a teacher online and receive answers to their questions. Since 2016, interactive lessons, live with a teacher, have also been offered during the summer.

With regard to summer courses, students only need to travel once to one of the partner schools in Quebec in order to take their exam, which is managed and corrected by the partner school. The summary of learning is then sent to the child's school. ÉtudeSecours's primary objective is to make life easier for students and parents, as well as for school teams.

The service is not only available to children with difficulties. It is also relevant for children who have a homeschooling path, student-athletes, students who are hospitalized or recovering, gifted children or even students who follow their families abroad for a short time or so. A long period. The ÉtudeSecours online courses present themselves as a solution to certain specific situations that the traditional classroom model cannot support.

In short, ÉtudeSecours.com is a solution allowing personalized online support for each young person in order to allow Quebec students to express their full potential through digital technology.
