50 trends for 2013 - La Presse

The day's activities offer to get acquainted with it with your pupils and to analyze them.

Goals

At the end of the activities, the student will be able to:
- quickly browse a section of a website;
- identify an article subject which has a particular value in his eyes;
- explain why the subject covered is important;
- transmit everything orally.

Suggested Activities

ACTIVITY 1: Crystal ball, tell me what's going to happen this year!

Ask students the following question:
“What do you think will happen important in 2013? Are there things that will change, events that will happen, etc.? "
Let the students go about their predictions. If you have time, you could suggest that they get them in writing quickly.
Then invite them to discover 2013 trends as seen by the newspaper La Presse.
In groups of 4 people, they will have to go through the list quickly and choose a trend that particularly interests them. Then, they will have to further their analysis by noting how this prediction is interesting, what are its implications for the sector concerned and any other relevant information. They should finally present it briefly orally to the other students in the class.

ACTIVITY 2: Don't go overboard!

As they uncovered the 50 Trends for 2013, have your students seen anything that left them skeptical? If so, suggest that they write them down and present them too!
