André Kapitan

André (Husband, father to teens and a Goldendoodle, CPA, Educator, Photographer and IT Consultant) is passionate about technology and his role as an ISP-Physical Needs/Special Education Teacher for Canada’s largest board, the Toronto District School Board (TDSB).

André teamed up with Apple and completed the first pilot project in Canada involving students with Autism using iPod touch devices to communicate via ProLoQuo2Go. André enjoys making learning visible and eliminating barriers to engage his students to share their authentic voice, including leading a team of students of all abilities that produce a weekly vlog (Park Lawn Connect) for his school’s YouTube channel.

In his role as an Apple Distinguished Educator and an Apple Education Trainer, André has been invited to share his students’ successes in school boards and Ministries throughout Canada, including partnerships with the Canadian National Institute for the Blind (CNIB).
