Involve your students in the Quebec Family Week School Project, which will take place from May 9 to 15, 2011.

Quebec Family Week (SQF), an initiative of the Réseau pour un Québec Famille, aims to promote and value the family and the importance of its contribution to society. Each year, several activities on the theme of the family are offered to the general public, and a school project to teachers.

This year, the school project is suggested in 2 parts (the second is optional):

1. Add your class or school to the list of schools participating in the “Well-thought-out Homework Leave”. One evening, during the SQF, we suggest replacing homework with a family activity. The only instruction: ask your students to identify the chosen family activity. This activity, which is a “break-together”, will certainly have positive repercussions both on the parent-child bond and that of the family-school.

2. Consult the Guide to educational activities allowing to work in class and at home the theme of time devoted to the family.

This component, which is a complement to the first component, allows you to work on several skills in the field of languages and the social universe on a subject of interest to the child. It targets the time that we like to share with the family (in 2011, physical activity with the family is in the spotlight) and what was the experience during the homework leave associated with the SQF.

This makes it possible to link the teacher's academic objectives and to work on the important link with the family for the child, the school and the project of a Quebec Family.

You can print the promotional leaflet of the SQF school project and post it in the teachers' room, distribute it to the governing board, attach it to your emails, etc.

The Réseau pour un Québec Famille also offers you the opportunity to highlight the initiatives that your school puts forward during the school year and which allow you to develop an inspiring family-school bond, and original support for parents. Share and register your initiative in the school section of Initiatives for a Quebec Family. See what other schools have put in place throughout the year.

The SQF will have the registered schools fire twirls.
