Educational resources in secondary school financial education

The UQTR and the RÉCIT of the social universe offer a bank of free educational resources for the new financial education course in secondary school.

In collaboration with the Department of Accounting Sciences of the University of Quebec at Trois-Rivières (UQTR), the RÉCIT of the social universe has developed a bank of educational resources online available free to teachers of the new high school financial education course.

Grouped by chapters and themes, all of these diversified resources are offered on a “turnkey” basis. They then easily allow the establishment of a multitude of relevant teaching and learning situations that contribute to achieving the objective of the course.

Free access via Google Drive, the resources offered contain in particular the student's notebook, evaluation grids, answers and explanatory videos. In fact, only teacher guides and slideshows require login RECIT teacher access generally available to schools.

As collaborators in the project, theConsumer protection office (OPC), the Committee on Standards, Equity, Occupational Health and Safety (CNESST), theFinancial Markets Authority (AMF) and Came back to Quebec also provide teachers with additional resources that deal with consumption, work and study.

Moreover, in order to cover most of the themes of the financial education course, all the partners are currently working on the design of new educational material. This will be available soon on the RÉCIT website.

 

The financial education course: what is it all about?

Recently implemented in the MELS school program (MEES), the financial education course aims to make students aware of the responsible management of their finances by leading them to exercise their judgment and develop their capacity for decision-making. position on financial issues.

 

The use of the RÉCIT material pays off!

Using the material from the STORY from the social universe, teachers can participate in the competition We talk about money in my class! of the Autorité des marchés financiers and have a chance to win a prize of 1000 $.
