What does REFER 2019 have in store for you?

The REFER will be back on March 21 and 22, 2019 for the 6th edition and the organizing committee is still welcoming communication proposals. Before the conference, around ten projects and challenges are offered to schools.

The Rendez-vous des Ecoles Francophones En Réseau (REFER) will be back on March 21 and 22, 2019 and the organizing committee is still welcoming communication proposals. Before the conference, around ten projects and challenges are offered to schools. Teachers who take an active part will be entitled to a 30% discount on the general conference rate.

The REFER offers Francophone education professionals opportunities to come together, face-to-face and via digital networks, to reflect on current issues in education and consider learning at 21e century. In 2018, the REFER brought together 200 establishments throughout the French-speaking world, spread over 20 different countries.

An innovative concept, each year the REFER offers free classroom activities accompanied by resources, a theme for reflection and a conference.

Ten exciting projects and challenges 

The classroom activities offered as part of the REFER are opportunities to create links between French-speaking classes. You can find the registration procedures, the stages of realization and the expected productions for each of the projects in clicking on the following link.

The school in play (x)

Each year, the REFER proposes a theme that guides reflections and discussions and contributes to the development of teaching practices. Under the theme "The school in play (x)", the REFER 2019 will bring together specialists from various backgrounds who will invite reflection to better understand the place of play in the school of 21e century and will offer many examples of practices. You can learn more about the topic here.

“Digital technologies multiply the opportunities to design learning situations through play. And many education professionals today question the relationship it has with learning. To what extent then does the use of play allow the creation of effective teaching / learning situations? What do you learn while playing? "

The programming of 6e REFER conference… will you be part of it?

The 6e REFER conference will be held at the Envol school in Lévis on March 21 and 22, with an opening conference for the general public on Wednesday, March 20. This will be presented by a French neuroscience researcher, Christophe Rodo, who will talk about neuromyths in education.

Several speakers including Margarida Romero, Éric Sanchez and Shawn Young have already confirmed their attendance. This is also the case for several inspiring teachers who will come to share their expertise in addition to drawing inspiration from those of the other participants.

Would you like to feed into the conference program? The organizing committee invites you to complete the communication proposal form. Several options are available: innovation showcase, conference, TedX-style animation, session ignite, workshop, round table, etc.

Teachers who share their educational projects as part of the REFER programming will be entitled to free participation.

You want to invest in your professional development? The REFER has signed an agreement with the educational forum of the Mlf which offers free training for Canadian teachers. You can even offer a workshop on this forum by contacting the organizers of REFER.
