The Photo Poésie educational project, 2016 edition, is in full swing from January 4 to February 26, 2016. It is not a competition, but an invitation to classes from preschool to high school to collective creation via Twitter.
Our Photo Poetry project was born from the imagination of a teacher of 2e year, Catherine Lapointe, who definitely knows how to bring together the educational community on Twitter thanks to his overflowing imagination and his generous involvement with his colleagues everywhere.
This time, she offers classes from preschool to high school a collaborative writing adventure whose intention is to offer students a space for expression by addressing sensitive topics, to teach them to love playing with the French language and to allow them to share and react to the creations of children from here and elsewhere.
To participate, all you need is a Twitter account and post texts and photos on the # tag.ProjectPhotoPoetry. You can choose from among the proposed themes, then throw the idea to the students and let them create in their own way, individually or in a team, at school or at home. They could, for example, create a poem from one of your photos or vice versa, finish a poem (rhymes, prose…), etc.
The designer insists that there are no predefined rules. “The important thing is that the photos and poems come from the students. That said, teachers, educators, adults are invited to participate too!
“The project becomes collaborative when students suggest themes, send a photo and pitch an idea, propose a poem and ask to publish a photo that could accompany the writing, etc. »
Unsure how to get started? Our best advice is to start by snooping on the # beaconProjectPhotoPoetry to see what has already been done. Then let yourself be inspired! Good creation!
